Denise Chaykun Weaver

CEO

Denise has over fifteen years of non-profit experience. Early in her career, Denise noticed that while most non-profit folks are passionate about their organizations’ missions, there’s also a critical need to help non-profits to run in a smooth and professional way–and that’s the gap she hopes to fill. Her previous work experience includes Ceterus, the State Policy Network, and the Charles G. Koch Foundation. She lives outside of Philadelphia.

Levi Morehouse

President & Co-Owner

Levi Morehouse is an entrepreneur and executive who is passionate about entrepreneurship, technology, debits and credits, and the future. With a career spanning public accounting, small business entrepreneurship, and founding a VC-backed accounting software company, Levi brings deep experience in outsourced accounting and non-profit finance to the Mission First team. He lives in Franklin, Tennessee.

Josh Murdock

Nonprofit Controller

Josh graduated from Western Michigan University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. He’s compiled over six years of experience managing finance and accounting operations for many non-profit organizations. During that time he learned the value in implementing cloud based software solutions for these organizations to increase efficiency and simplicity. Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, he still lives in the Kalamazoo area with his wife and two daughters.

Lacey Jade Lanzo

Success & Technology Lead

Lacey has seven years of experience in property preservation, including three years in reports management. During this time, she took on training and operating an offshore Ops Analyst team. Her knowledge of Excel and macros, helped her to cut reporting time in half for over forty reports. Lacey now brings this thinking of detailed analysis and time efficiency into everything she does. She lives in Central Texas with her husband and chihuahua.

Amanda J. Snyder

Nonprofit Controller

Amanda has ten years of accounting and bookkeeping experience. Over the last seven years, she has narrowed her focus to non-profit accounting, and has recently started work in governmental accounting. Her areas of expertise are revenue recognition, donor reconciliations, payroll, and financial analysis. In May 2019, Amanda earned a Masters in Professional Accounting from University of Miami. She currently resides along the beautiful Lake Michigan lake shore with her husband and son.

Emily Erspamer

Compliance Associate

A veteran of finance, law, non-profits, and government, Emily Erspamer has extensive knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act, as well as a variety of back-end finance operations. Emily worked in compliance assistance and investigation with the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division. Before that, she served as an accounting assistant with a third-party insurance administrator. In addition, she has volunteered in several startup organizations and has experience in leading and operating public policy and other not-for-profit institutions. She holds a degree in Finance from the University of Memphis and a J.D. from Tulane University School of Law. Emily lives in New Orleans with her husband and four children.

Jackie Munsell

HR Specialist

Jackie has over ten years of experience in Human Resources working with many different organizations. She has seven years of experience leading talent management, employee relations, organizational change, and HR policy/process initiatives at a Fortune 100 company where she held project management, consultant, and management roles. Jackie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Miami and a Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Jackie currently lives on Cape Cod.

Amy Woods

Nonprofit Controller

Amy has over two decades of experience in both non-profit and for-profit financial management and accounting across multiple industries including non-profit foundations, IRB research and tech studies, HCBS Waiver-funded programs, and large-scale Amazon eCommerce accounting. She managed a youth sports non-profit for over six years. She has areas of expertise in grant writing including IRB-funded research studies, non-profit foundation management, and a passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Amy holds both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA. She currently resides in the Rocky Mountains of northwest Wyoming.

Amber Zevallos

Client Success

Amber earned a bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University, followed by an MBA from Marist College. She worked for several different financial institutions, learning the inner workings of the banking industry. She also gained finance experience working for the treasury department of U.S. Steel Corporation. Amber lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband and three children.

Liz Kramb

Nonprofit Controller

Elizabeth Kramb graduated from Davenport University in 2010 with a Bachelors in Accountancy and passed the CPA exam shortly there after. Once she became a Certified Public Accountant, she started working for a public accounting firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan and now has over 10 years of public accounting experience. She has acquired a diverse range of experience from leading audits of not-for-profit entities to providing tax planning and business advising to many different types of entities (mid-sized family owned companies, large corporations, Partnership, S- Corporations, Trusts and Estates). During her time in public accounting she has also become proficient in Quickbooks/Quickbooks Online and the Microsoft suite of programs. She especially loves learning new tricks in Microsoft Excel and using those to help clients become more efficient. In her spare time she loves playing outdoors with her husband and two kids, and volunteering for local non profit agencies that aim to reduce adverse childhood experiences.

Sarah Gruver

Nonprofit Senior Accountant

Sarah holds a Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Arkansas. She has over 7 years accounting experience, mostly in non-profit and governmental accounting. As a former Finance Director for a non-profit, she sees the great need that nonprofits have with their administrative burden. She loves to go bicycling in the Florida sunshine. She currently resides in the Tampa Bay area with her husband and 3 sons.

Matthew Yonkman

VP of Operations

Matt serves as VP of Operations for Mission First where he oversees all accounting work. He comes to Mission First with over a decade of experience in outsourced accounting. Matt has a B.B.A. in Accounting from Western Michigan University. A Michigan native, he currently resides in North Carolina. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two cats.

Tim Miller

Nonprofit Controller

Tim has over a decade of accounting experience, with a recent focus on accounting and financial consulting for small businesses. He enjoys working with business owners to help them better understand their financial statements, which allows them to make more informed business decisions in the long run. Tim holds a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Tim is also a singer/songwriter who releases music and writes fiction. He lives in North Carolina with his wife and cat.

Dave Martin

Benefits Specialist

Dave has over 20 years of diverse and extensive for profit and nonprofit experience in Human Resources, people management and benefits strategy with such companies as Netflix, Inte Q, Spark Program, Nonprofit HR, and Hope For The Warriors. Dave has built from the ground up HR departments and services at three distinct organizations in his career. He is fluent with both the strategic and tactical sides of HR and benefits management and execution, utilizing the breadth and depth of his knowledge and experience to create thriving workplaces and informed employees. Dave holds a B.A. in English Composition from DePauw University and is a Certified Professional with the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Dave lives in Oak Park, IL, with his wife and two daughters.

Carl Oberg

Nonprofit Controller

Carl Oberg is an experienced nonprofit management professional with over 15 years in the sector. He has held every position from intern to Chief Operating Officer in several nonprofits, mostly focusing in the areas of education and legal advocacy. He has also held a number of fractional accounting and financial positions with both fintech-focused startups and nationwide accounting firms. Before becoming a nonprofit specialist, Carl worked as a federal government trade expert and a defense contractor. He lives with his wife in Valdez, Alaska.

Ryan Romano

Nonprofit Controller

Ryan graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a double major in Economics and Finance. He has worked for the past sixteen years in varied roles within accounting, finance, and investment operations. He has spent the past decade-plus working in the non-profit space focused on religious and educational settings. He and his wife live in the Northwest Arkansas area where he enjoys golfing, traveling, and reading.

Matt Corpora

Nonprofit Controller

Matt has over a decade of professional accounting experience and has held roles in public accounting, start-up technology, nonprofit accounting, and Fortune 1000 financial reporting. He has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Akron and is a licensed CPA. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, reading, and completing projects on his homestead. Matt lives in the Upstate of South Carolina with his wife and six children.

Marvin Snow

Nonprofit Controller

Marvin has over a twenty years of accounting experience. She started her career in Public Accounting and transitioned to the CFO role in small and medium size business. Marvin has recently moved into the consulting side and enjoys working with clients to help them better understand their financial position. Marvin holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Barry University and is a CPA. Marvin lives in sunny South Florida and enjoys travel and visiting Disney with her family.

Arlette Kim

Nonprofit Controller

Arlette holds a B.A. in Accounting from Florida International University, a master’s degree in accounting from NOVA Southeastern University and has an active CPA license in Florida. Arlette has over 20 years of accounting experience. The majority of which have been in the cruise line industry.  Throughout her career, Arlette has held management roles in Accounting, Internal Audit and Treasury. Arlette resides in South Florida and enjoys fitness, traveling, music, learning about self-improvement, doing volunteer work, and spending time with her family.
